OFF TOPIC.... repairing a clawfoot tub foot...

Post by MJBlazek »

I know this is far from armor..... but...

I have an old clawfoot tub.

the feet wont stay on it.

can this be fixed?

I was thinking of using JB weld on them to affix the feet to the bottom of the tub.

anybody think this will or will NOT work?

Thanks!

JB Weld is not a fix. It is a band-aid.
In your case it will not take the load.
At 8 pounds per gallon X the human weight divided by 4 = heavy.

A Cast Iron Weld with a splint on the back side is in order.
This is not something the newbie should try at home.

You will need to contact your local profissional welding shop.
And pay the piper.
