Is this for SCA fighting or real stuff?

Regarding metal weapons, the requirements vary from group to group, however most require a 30 pound bow, full face protection, neck protection of some description, a box and no uncovered skin in addition to usual minimum standards, usually gloves and a metal helmet.

Hi Thomas!

Here's the link to the CA rules of our Kingdom:

http://www.drachenwald.sca.org/fighting/dw_regs.html

In D'wald we have both Full-Contcat ("Heavy") and Non-Contact ("Light") archers. For full-contact you will need at least minimum gear for heavy combat with the exception of your shooting hand which is to be equipped with an "archer's gauntlet". For non-contact archery you will need a helmet (18 ga. steel *only* if it does not look like a heavy combat helmet - 16 ga. otherwise), neck protection, kidney and groin armour as for heavy combat, pads on elbows and knees.

You can also contact our CA deputy marshal (Griseldis Partheymueller - see DW homepage for contact info) or join our CA mailing list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/drachenwaldcombatarchery/

Finally, don't hesitate to email me if something is unclear ... Image

Happy huntin'!

combat-archery.com
should have all the curent info for sca combat archery.
I personaly find a lighter draw weight gives me a faster fireing time.
with the amount of abuse that can happen on the field with sca combat you may want to pick up a cheep fiberglass bow. I think I payed 10 for my last one at a yard sale.
