liner for 16th c. comb morion.

Anyone know what style of liner to use? I was thinking a linen or canvas liner sewn to a leather browband. While I know this would work, how were they actually done?

Quilted linen stuffed with tow or maybe horsehair. Though I don't recall seeing any actual morion liners, I've seen originals in burgonets from the "morion period" quilted in parallel lines and squares/diamonds. The liner was sewn to a "lining leather" that was riveted all the way around the skull. You can see the line of rivets on any original morion. On burgonets, the leather was riveted over the brow and at the base of the neck.
