Finger Gauntlet pattern question

In regards to the pattern on the site for Finger Gauntles. The plates are not riveted to each other for articulation rather they are riveted to leather pieces then to a glove... does this offer adequate protection? Does it pass SCA combat regulation? I understand that having the parts riveted to each other will offer better protection, but will these suffice?

Has anyone made these that can offer advice?

I use fingered gauntlets where the finger lames and gatlings are riveted to the leather and not each other. They pass inspection just fine. I am in the Midrealm and have used them there, in Northshield and in Meridies and they have passed without issue.

I havent had a problem with mine. You just need to make sure that the edges of each segment contact the rattan so that all of the force of a blow is transmitted there.

I've had gaunts riveted to leather strips stand up to steel combat for years, I see no reason why they wouldn't handle rattan equally well.
