Who's got the best prices for expanding wheel belts?

In Canada would be handy but basically I just need to figure out who's got the best prices on these things.

For comparison I looked at both Eastwood Co and Caswell Plating. I found Caswell to have better prices.

I went to my local industrial tool supply and they have them made for me by an abrasives co, about 1/2 of what eastwood charges

Ok the brafasco guy is checking for me. I'm not remembering right at the moment. Expander wheels are 1.5" wide right? I know it's 6" diameter.

It's 6" diameter, so around 18" in circumference, can it fit standard 18" sanding belts?
We used to cut down 4" sanding belts to make 1/2" belts for the harborfreight powerfile grinder attachment.
I use JMB abrasives for all my needs, perhaps they ship too...
not sure how bilingual the personel will be though... how's your french?

Madmatt! If you're after alum oxide belts, Caswell is pretty good - they'll give you a package deal on sets of like 5 or 6 different grits, and they edge out most everyone else I've seen. Not sure about shipping to Canada and the exchange rate, but you can most likely rattle that info off in your sleep.
Here's the thing I've noticed, tho... on my mild steel armor pieces, alum oxide will just melt right off the belts. On stuff lower than 100 grit it's not bad, but anything higher just won't last. I had a 240 belt that literally sanded one lame from an articulated elbow, and it was done. 4 or 5 square inches of metal turned it into 600 grit.
Eastwoodco carries TRIZACT belts for that expander wheel, and they outperform alum oxide by a long shot. They're $6 apiece ($20 for a 5-pack of all their available grades) but it's WORTH IT. On an expander wheel they cut very quickly when you want them to, and they're available from 100 grit to 1200. The only trouble is that eastwoodco is the only place I've found these belts... =/
FYI if you're getting custom-made belts from anywhere, the measurement you want on the belts is 18-15/16". *shrug* just seems to work out the best.
