i raised a sallet out of a garage sale wok, its seriously the best helm ive ever made. the thing was like 14 gauge spring steel, plus it had a handle to hold onto while i was working.

now that is a danm fine idea patric i think that i will give the tempory handle idea a go when i can.
erm lets go for a ONE peice great helm, (you know someones showing off when they do that...)

Howdy, Raising is not easy I need alot of practice at it and am inconsistent. Looks like you had some practice though and got it going pretty good. Im guessing its going to be a Sallet? Post more pics when you get time.

Wow, thx everyone for your reply.
Basically it must to be a pot that is why I start to work of stainless steel. But now I am in confusion. I will continue my work and see what happen.

How big was that circle of steel you started with..... (what diameter.....?)
Also, was it mild or stainless.....?
I have an idea forming in my head.....
(You haven't had an idea for thousands of years!)

Cereal bowl? Armorers get a wee bit hungry. I like the wok idea too. You can cook your food and make your greaves at the same time! But wait, there's more!
Good luck on the helm. Hopefully MY first attempts are as fruitful. Unless it's a weird way to set up faulds easily.

This stuff will make me crazy.
I had decided what it will be.
It will be a helmet; I hope I will have much patience to finish it. But if it won’t come out I will use one of your ideas.
