WD-40 and a green scrungie. Straight razor and WD-40 for pennsic stickers that are applied directly to my helm. Finish sand with 600 grit about twice a year if necessary.

Never-Dull works for me. Specialy with the duck tape smears.

Goof-off or Desolves-it (something like that - clear spray bottle with yellow stuff in it) works too.

For sticker marks, use baby oil on the mark, leave it for 6 hours then you should be able to wipe it off.

MEK - Methyl Ethyl Ketone, I might have misspelled that but you will find it in the paint section. Removes everything you will find on your helm. Tape, residue, buffing compound, etc. I use it for everything.

0000 Steel Wool, Auto Rubbing/Polishing Compound and an Orbital Sander.
Apply the rubbing/polishing compound to the steel wool, place against the helm, and drive it around using the orbital sander for 30-60 seconds.
Clean off the compound and apply two coats of a quality grade auto paste wax.

There's a solvent called Oops you can get in the paint section.
Works fantastic, gets off all the tape with zero effort...
smells good too

Redboar old buddy old pal!!
Hope life is treating you good - hope to see you at Pennsic or maybe we can hook up at Gulf Wars in the future - send Christine my best.
Goo Gone is hands-down the best thing I have found to use. It dissolves the adhesive and duct tape off like magic.
http://www.googone.com/products_gg.shtmlYou can buy it at Menards, True Value and even some grocery stores there back home. A little bottle will last a LONG time and is cheap.
Then I follow up with a can of spray stainless steel cleaner and polish and really makes the helm look nice.
