(I was met by a very nice gent whose phone number is on a sheet of paper in my office/cubicle, which was cleaned out by another very nice gentleman who thought he was doing me a favor recycling some papers... pls. to pm me with your phone #).
I don't have the material resources to do anything particularly grand, but we now have basically two folks interested in Hungarian stuff. I will be putting together some opportunities for a little experimental archaeology and some weapons practice as the fall progresses (and my baby begins to actually let me sleep at night!). It'll start small and humble, an archery practice inside one of the Trinity River Levees (SCA or other archers obviously welcome).
The basic push of the group will focus on the Neopolitan Succession Wars, and I will try to open up my library as much as possible to folks who are interested. Eventually I hope to work up to a "poor man's CiT" with some stations for javelins, hurlbats, etcetera. Sabre and fokos work will be available if anybody's interested.
There aren't a lot of us, not even an actual handful, so expect things to remain excruciatingly informal for quite some time -- it's an opportunity to share notes, while slowly putting together the equivalent of a "persona in a box" for folks in SCA or LH who don't have access to good sources on the topic.

No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.
