A friend asked me to make a scabbard for his sword. Here's what I did.

Modeled after early 14th Century illuminations and brasses
Tulip poplar wood core lined with fullered wool
Veg tan leather
Custom brass strap end and brass chape
I forged my own custom leather stamp for the diamond tooling pattern (1/4" tall rampant lion)
The buckle and belt mounts were purchased

Viking seax
I started with a finished bare blade made by Łukasz Szczepański
Then I made the handle and sheath
Overall length 22 inches
Handle: Swedish Masur birch, walnut & bronze
Sheath: 7-9 oz. natural veg tan, 30 gauge sheet brass
First attempt at something like this, definitely munitions grade work

This is a pendant that I did for a recent A&S for Queen's Champion. It is a micro-mosaic of the Queen's Heraldry and I later presented it to her Majesty.

Each one of the 'circles' was hand placed and measures approx. 1mm in diameter.

So I went a little nuts on largesse.
Image

I cast 78 pewter game pieces, enough for six brandubh boards (the smallest of the tafl variants) from masters I'd carved.
Image
I left a nub of the sprues on for all the pieces, because the Ballinderry board has holes drilled in it. It makes for great travel boards.

Four earspoon/tweezer/toothpick sets, seven bone needle cases (two needles in each, one bone and one brass), seven rings out of 14 ga brass and nickel, and four more out of 16 ga (all documentable styles!).

Magyar (Hungarian) archery kit. Made for a friend. It's meant to be a functional equestrian archery set based on a Magyar kit, but not necessarily a historically-accurate reproduction.

Quiver is made from veg tan leather and lined with horse hair. The fan-like opening protects the fletchings while mounted.

The belt is a common Magyar utility/military belt, with multiple rings for suspending the quiver, bow case and other gear. I bought the cast belt buckle and mounts from Armour & Castings in the Ukraine (highly recommended merchant!).

The arrows are Sitka Spruce and the fletchings are hand cut in the Mongolian/Turkish "balance pan" shape, with silk whipping.

I have been pretty busy lately
Here are some of the items I have completed in the last few months.
All are made from 6mm mild steel pin riveted rings.
Mostly round rings but some parts from flat rings.

I forged this full-tang ballock dagger from O1 tool steel, and put an ebony handle on it.

It's supposed to be an exact copy of an extant 15th C ballock dagger, but it didn't turn out quite right. I like it anyway. This was my second attempt at reproducing the dagger, maybe I'll try one more time to see if I can get it right.

Overall length is 16 inches (my wife measured it  )

Hand carved lucet in white oak with a linseed oil finish. It's a bit rough still, but it's for personal use so so don't mind.
Edit I apologize for the photo quality. My laptop but the dust so I'm reduced to using a tablet.

Plains Indian gunstock war club. I made just because I wanted to make it.

The point that I forged is a reproduction of an 18th century dagger ("dag"). In the 18th century, dags were made from wrought iron by Hudson Bay to trade with the natives.

My reproduction war club was made from White Oak, wrought iron, prairie rattlesnake skin, and buckskin. It's almost 30 inches long. The blade of the dag is about 8 inches long.

Never did post this to AA....

Last year I was growing out my beard for a Steampunk con (going for muttonchops), and a member at our practice kept calling me SCA Santa. Northshield has a 12th night event every year, and I decided to go as a 14th century Santa (I know, Santa wasn't a thing then, but I want to do something more fun than dress up as a Bishop). Here's the outfit:

Reproduction of another 15th C ballock dagger.
Forged from O-1 tool steel with a beveled spine and single edge.
Eight-sided grip was carved from a period wood (European briar burl).
Brass bolster and pommel cap.
Lacquer finish.
15-1/2 inches overall length.

I hate polishing, so I left the forge scale as is.

The original blade had more of a chisel edge, but I filed my edge more acute so that it cuts better.

I put a bevel on the spine, like the original dagger. It was scary, trying to get a straight 10-inch bevel, but it came out fine.

The 8-sided grip was very difficult to reproduce, didn't come out perfect, but good enough.

1st whack at a kidney purse, tassels, and a belt.

The purse has and outer flap with 2 main compartments and 3 pouchlets. The entire purse is made from 2mm tooling leather hand dyed with chocolate brown. The next pouch I plan on making the main outer flap/back/belt loops from a 2.5-3mm leather, with the remaining components from calfskin, roughly in the realm of 1-1.5mm.

Tassels are made from some cheap cotton I had lying around. I will remake them with silk this winter. Beads are glass and wood.

The belt is a 2.6mm leather strap at 1 1/4" wide to match my existing buckle and strap end.

Mounts, buckles, strap ends, and eyelets are from Billy and Charlies, and Fettered Cock Pewters.

A friend gave me a commerically-acquired seax and asked me to make a sheath for him. Here is what I did.
I gave it an worn "antique" look.
Instead of dyeing the leather, I gave it a dry rub. I like the way that it highlighted the tooling.
Not my best work, unfortunately, but I tried numerous new construction techniques that will payoff big with future projects like this.

Made a scabbard for an Oakeshott Type XVIII sword. Just have to attach it to the belt.

Scabbard is made from Birch and Poplar, it's just over 1/16" thick.

Leather wrap was originally dyed with a medieval indigo dye. I found the leather dye recipe in an old medieval manuscript. But the client didn't like the spotty results, so I matched the color with modern dyes and repeated it.

I made the brass fittings and chape from 20 gauge brass sheet. I bought the brass rings. I have to learn hand engraving, so I decorate the brass.

The Oakeshott Type XVIII scabbard is very well executed; I particularly liked the decoration between the brass strap attachment bands. What is the sword - Albion, DT, etc.?

I do not know the brand name of the sword. My friend bought it second-hand. Quality-wise it seems to be similar to Valiant.
