Nice, I didn't realize Cabbassets swept back on the head like that. I always assumed they sat more like a top hat on your head.

This one may have been done that way for SCA purposes, to give the required back-of-the-head protection.

I've seen woodcuts of morions worn both ways, though it usually seems to be somewhere between the way this cabasset sits, and the way of wearing it described above.
How much of that is the artist wanting to depict something moving, or just artistic license to not have to repeat the same figure over and over, I can't say.

You'd think, but I had to wear a Cabbasset for a while at jamestown (Much perfered the morion). Both sit off the back of your head, providing a downward glancing surface, and easing weight off the neck.
