My very own before and after thread.

Post by Benedek »

So I love seeing other folks before and afters. I thought I'd start up with my own.

The before, I'm on the right in the burgandy brigandine. Most of this kit was either borrowed, or more than 10 years old.

It was attrocious and didn't work very well.

The after, I've still got some more work to do. I've got to modify my awesome bazubands from Jolly Knight and finish tailoring my blackened flat ring maille shirt, as well as add the buckles down the front.

And of course get some boots, but here's how it stands now.

With the new shiny Ottoman helm and the purple caftan and black pants.

And a pic of the bazu's I need to trim around the wrist a bit.

Keep up the good work. Do you think you'll cover your shoes with leather or will you opt for a period style?

I've got a few period styles of footwear I'm looking at, just have to find the room in my budget for them. Till then I've got a pair of hiking boots that look much less offensive than those tennis shoes.

I can't even wait for it,

It should all be here before the second weekend of Lilies, I'll have to unveil it there. I've just really got to come up with some kind of footwear, anything has to be better than those tennis shoes. I may just have to try and make my hiking boots work for now....grrrr.

So here is the soft kit that I just got in. I really had none to speak of before.

The hat without the turban.

With the over Caftan (ignore the stoned look my roomate snapped the pic mid blink.)

I really need a good set footwear, but I'm working on that.
