Well, after 16 years in the SCA, I finally registered a Name and Device. Got the letter in the mail this week. This site has inspired me in many ways, and I wanted to share a bit of that.

Thanks to a Eastern European specialist at last years Pennsic, I have a doccumentable name:

Rudolphus Nitriensis (Rudolph of Nitra)

and my device passed (thanks to the heralds assistance, and a good gentleman...err Baron, from Storvick who allowed a conflict of arms):

"Azure, a swan argent charged on the breast with a rose proper". Needless to say I am super excited, just need to get figure out how to make a proper avatar for this site.

Anyway, this is how I am currently drawing the device. Interested if anyone may have suggestions on tailoring it more towards Eastern Europe. Thanks for looking

There are some links to Polish and Hungarian arms in the Medieval Heraldry Archive:

Maybe some of these will help with art ideas?

From what I can recall, quite a few people have turned to Effingham for their avatars.

It does look very nice.
