Battle of the Nations and Pennsic meeting?

Post by seabrig »

I'm still hoping we can put together a team USA. for next years event. I would like to have a meeting of interested people at Pennsic this year. Can anyone suggest an easy place to meet that everyone can find and a good time? tentatively I'm suggesting at the Barn, at 7:00 on Sunday August 7th. I will only be at Pennsic for the weekend of opening ceremonies. I hope to have fliers to hand out at marshals point, at the Battle of 30 and anyone else I can get to take one. I'm sorry for not being to active on the topic for the last few months. I would also like to advertise in the Paper if I can get an early ad.
I registered a domain for the usa team web page. so if anyone would like to volunteer to design something simple please let me know.

that's the one I got most favorable response from the people I asked. I know its a long name. But I think its easy to remember.

So my plans are:
to have a web page up by then.
info fliers printed by then.
meeting at the Barn 7:00pm August 7th.

Please send me a message ahead of time if you think you can make it, cant make it but want to be updated, and any topics of conversation you would like addressed.
Send email to seabrig29@aol.com

Thanks.

I'll be there if I can. Thats the COTT day so I may still be in my Battle of the nations kit.

I wonder have you guys given any thought to putting events together in America versus just putting a team together to head to Russia?

Same here but I'll definitely make it out after.

And I agree with James, how about trying something in the US?

Re: What time is Battle of 30?

I understand the Battle of 30 will be later in the day on Sunday than I originally expected. So I want to make sure to not only see that but also hand out some info there as well. So do we think we need to move the meeting time? maybe even move it out to the battle field right after the Battle of 30?
Thoughts?

Sounds good to have it on/near the COTT field. A pavilion or shade to stand under afterwards would be nice. ;)

I have a bad feeling that I'm not going to make it to War until Monday/Tuesday of War Week which means I'll miss the 30 (this kills me), the AA gathering and then THIS! Damn it all to hell.

Before everyone heads off for Land Grab. Yes, we are still having the meeting on the field just after the Combat of the Thirty. Please seek me out. I will be carrying my banner/flag. to describe for all those who do not speak herald. Its a white field. Red Catherin's wheel(wagon wheel with teeth on the outside) from there is a red strip from upper left to bottom right and cuts through counter charging the wheel. If I can get a photo later today I will post that as an attachment later. I'll be handing out informational postcards to anyone who will take one.

Please Pass this on to anyone you think would be interested when you are at Pennsic.

Sunday: just after the Combat of the thirty. (if its not being used I will try to move us to the large shade tent set up on the Midrealm side of the field after we have gathered everyone together.)
Lucian. sorry you wont be there I promise to post the results of the meeting here and on our web page www.battleofthenationsteamusa.com

Seabrig, I won't be making it that early, if at all this year. Can you contact me after Pennsic and give me a rundown on what I missed?

Results of Battle of Nations Pennsic meeting?

Post by seabrig »

So, The Combat of 30 was awesome. If you missed it you missed some great combat. I had taken some 300 postcard type fliers to pennsic with me, dropped most of them off at as many Merchants as I could. I would have advertised in the Pennsic paper but the cost was ridiculous. I talked to a lot of people. After the combat of 30 myself and Nissan and maybe 3 or 4 others gathered around and talked about getting to BOT type even somewhere in the US. Sadly I found out Yesterday there is an event 3 hours north of Toronto this weekend. Other than that I do not know of anything happening at least near me. I've looked at the aemma boards and I don't know anything around my area (Detroit) or Windsor. So the question is does anyone have any ideas for holding our own, maybe informal, event we can have to just invite people to just come fight and talk about rules and such. I'm open to how we could advertise this event and other places for recruiting.
Thoughts? Lets keep this thing going. If we shoot for mid November I think I could come up with a location maybe in Lansing were we could hold an event.
