So, I'm tossing around some ideas for a 15th century rig. Problem is that I can't wear plate legs. 2 ACL surgeries mean I will be wearing leg braces from here on out. I've been looking around and can't seem to find any evidence of padded quisses or "baggier" pants for mid 15th century.
Anyone have any info on padded quisses or baggier pants being worn in mid 15th century?

At least one person has armored a brace or braces into plate legharness. But that's an expensive option having two sets of leg braces, and I'd think unlikely to be covered by a health plan.
Does the doctor say you're permanently going to be operating on stainless steel hinges or is there a more hopeful prognosis?

Dr. Says my knees are stronger now than before I hurt them. BUT I dont want to hazzard another injury. So I will be figting in my braces.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think that a longer top coat with padded quisses and simple knee cops may be the best option. Not exactly the silhouette I was looking for, but Might be my best option.

What type of support does a leg brace offer that can not be provided by a well fitted full plate leg harness?
I am not trying to be argumentative here I just have zero experience with leg braces.
With my late 15th century leg harness I am fully protected from side loads & hyper extension.

If the leg harness is built to your leg diminsions and strapped appropriately, probably none.
However, I already have the leg braces, and don't have the thousands needed for a custom built set of full legs.

Therein lies the rub.
