Watching KOH, (I know its not totally historical but it leads for great inspiration), and I noticed that the Hospitaller had on essentially maille demis. His sleeves looks like they ended at the wrist but added a piece onto the back of his hand with a string going around the front. If I make a pair of splinted gloves to both cover the back of my hand and the cuff, I think that this would let me essentially hide the fact that I was wearing demi-gauntlets. Now all I have to do is find a way to make it look like the baskethilt was part of my hand too. Ideas?
