Painting a Panther

Seeking tips for appropriate paint to use to decorate a Panther Regent tent. I have the 13.5 Sunforger canvas, and don't want to nuke the water repellancy...is this even an issue?
I know Panther sells paints, but I'd hate to run out of paint mid-project, then have to wait for another paint order to arrive - would rather be able to find something I can obtain locally, but that won't screw up my tent.
Any ideas for paint products, folks?

IIRC, Panther has detailed instructions on their site.

I'd go with a standard ordnance tan over a zimmermit finish.
What?
Oh, sorry, I misunderstood.

No, no Glen -
you
shave the panther first, then paint it.
Call me when you've got with that first step done.

The Red Company used Behr exterior latex paint.
Looked good.

Yes, but plastic paste will not protect a Panther from the elements, Typhoons, Thunderbolts and the like.
Sorry, had to say it.

Oh, I knew what I was in for the moment I typed the "subject" header...
Looks like the general consensus is exterior latex paint, thinned with water 1-to-1.
