Round of applause for Jeff and Gwen and everyone else who works so hard to bring tournaments like that together.

It is great to see the pomp and dedication of the RA and IJA. I am inspired.

And a round of applause to fellows like Thomas H who help it happen and are content not to be in the limelight.

My hat is off.

Thirded. Anybody do any novice joust training within a couple hour drive of Durham, NC? I can/could ride a horse once enough to have the thing trot under neath me. It's a start.

Is Nashville close enough?
Next session is June 4-17, 2006.
This is full contact joust training.

Thanks Trystan, it's good for people to know what's going on in their areas.

I would also like to point out that what's done at the RA and by the Freelancers are quite different from each other. Please don't read anything into that. I'm not saying that one or the other is better or worse, they're just different.

There's something out there for everyone and each must find a game that suits him. I happen to like the type of jousting that's done at the RA/England and in Europe, and that done by the IJA. It's just what I personally gravitated to. I hope everyone can find the type of activity that suits them, as I've been very lucky to have found.

I'll also offer a plug to my own joust training sessions, we call them "Knight School", held the first weekend of every month here near San Diego. We are happy to accommodate out of state visitors. Info can be found here:
