to stay warm

you ever wear mail and plate harness when it's about 30' or less?? in the wind?

You'll freeze yer butt off. Put a big puffy coat over it all and you stay warm armoured and combat effective.

And am I remembering rightly that there was a little mini-Ice Age back then (ergo people needing to stay warm), or has the Guinness come back to haunt me?

Then my work here is done.

Lord of Linen, How much longer shall we have to face persecution from those who don't see the one true way to enlightenment (and a padded aventail or standard)? How long shall we suffer?

Spread the word, my Son.

Go with linen layers, Brother Tim.

Again, I thank you for your wisdom and encouragement, Brother David. Linen layers it is! Though I may decide to pierce with many eyelets in order to let the breeze through. Handsewn eyelets, of course.

Cheers.
