Got my first helm. Love it a lot. Just a curious qustion. What would be the appropriate timeperiod and region be for this helm. Where could I start looking to document it, if at all?

Mid to late 12th century, Mediterranean areas. Italy, the Levant, etc.

I would stick with 1180-1300, depending on the persona's income. Haven't seen much in the way of faceplates on helms in Western Europe. Seems to be an Eastern Europe, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern thing.
Sweet looking helm, who made it?

As has been pointed out in the Research forum, not really. The helm top is earlier, the face plate does not belong with it. One is 11th century, the other is late 12th-mid 13th.

It was made by a local smith, Master Maelmarden in Colorado Springs.
