In Spring I look gay,
Decked in comely array,
In Summer more clothing I wear;
When colder it grows,
I fling off my clothes,
And in Winter quite naked appear.
(I didn't write it; I found it on a web site.)

Made am I from my mother's bones.
Men fight o'er me with their brother,
For within me I hold all a man owns,
And without, divide them each from the other.

Well, I was thinking towel...But then I thought the innappropriate part ment allergies...So I thought cotton to be specific..because it can be shaped in more than just a towell...And towells can be made from other fabrics as well...
But your riddle...Your answer....

Two up, four down, four danglers, and a wig-wag.
A cow. Two horns, four legs, four teats, and a tail.

Alex: Correct about the cow. The other one is not the answer I know but I would have to say it's correct in that much.

I can see this being two possible answers; a lap or sleep.
Here's a favorite of mine from a computer game:
Red as blood,
sweet as wine,
my heart is hard,
but my flesh is fine!

Here's a clever one I found. No googling!
Five hundred begins it, five hundred ends it,
Five in the middle is seen;
First of all figures, the first of all letters,
Take up their stations between.
Join all together, and then you will bring
Before you the name of an eminent king.

DAVID
"D" is the Roman numeral for 500.
"V" is the Roman numeral for 5.
First of all letters = A
First of all figures = 1 (I as a Roman numeral.)
It was the "eminent king" clue that enabled it.
