How long is the hair? I have chin length hair, and it can still be French braided. It's not easy, but it's doable.

I have pics somewhere of the Marie de France bust, but this one is online now. The braids come to her jaw, bend, and run across the back of her head (presumably). The bend is actually quite easy to make look natural with braids, if you need, to, do a little sewing with some hair colored thread.

If you cross the braids in the back, and slick down any real hair real well, it's not too bad.

Alternatively, a long but narrow veil, with the front edge right at the top of the head, is a wonderful way to hide a multitude of modernities.

is me with fakies hanging down to the jaw, and my real hair in the back. I was crazy rushed in the morning, so it's not perfect. And the fakies are a tad too long. But you get the idea.

The hair in question is thus:

I'd recommend slicking the hair back, and placing a veil under the fillet. I know short hair people get tired of the "cover it" approach, but the "cover it and add plenty of fake" can be fun.

An old set of Illusion clamshells that were a gift from Master Sneaulf when I was invested.

I covered them with brown knit and soft leather. I'm in the process of modifying a new set, if my damn tools didn't keep breaking down on me.

Hmm, very cool. Might have to look into that. Have a pair of Bokalo's clamshells, that I might try that with. Very nice idea.

Thats the first helm I made. Made others, keep coming back to it. Got a stainless transitional on the bench. WOHT at pennsic makes me want to get more accurate in my rig. Murdock is an evil temptress.
