In the background of this first picture of Vitus wearing a freon helm is Marc Rengarth; really cool armourer dude. :)

I had one of his heaters, and it was equally heavy. Heavy shields (20lbs+) were made famous by Laurelen and Alen in the early 80's, who taught a minimalist style where the inertia of the heavy shield worked for you. Of course, it helped more if you were of more "elven" height :D... AoC

We call those the +10 Elven shields of arm strengthening ;)

The flat top helm with the big piece of red tape on it was last used by Sir Karl Ulfson; he wore it until like two years ago and that helm is older than me! ;) Reportedly built by Duke Andrew.

The silver Durh helm you are wearing in this picture... It is still in semi-regular use in Cynnabar! :D

Wade, actually, we were hoping that we'd see you there in person! I have to say, I, for one, was totally bummed that you weren't. As for WilValCo stuff, unfortunately Val and I were about halfway there when he realized he'd forgotten to bring up ANYTHING out of the basement to take with. I guess we'll just have to take a photo hunt down there ourselves sometime.

Also, here's a picture of as many past Midrealm royals as we could find. TRM are not in this one (they are in later ones, they had gotten stopped talking for the first few pictures, and didn't get into them until later). There were also a few who were at the event but not in the pictures (i.e. His Grace Cariadoc must have been in the other building, so not in the photos).

Here are the ones I can name... (sorry, definately not all of them, and some I just might get wrong)... and in no particular order.

Merowald de Sylveaston
Franz von Blinkend-Lichten
Corin du Soleil
Myfanwy ferch Elys
Valerius Paencalvus
Fernanda de la Foret
EikBrandr Solgyafi
Runa Eikbrandrskona
Guenievre du Dragon Vert
Brannos O'Iongardail
Rebekah MacTiernan
Eliahu ben Itzhak
Palymar of the Two Baronies
Talymar gan y Llyn
Catherine of Sternfeld
Aislinn de Richemont

Ok...and thats all I got. Either I don't know the rest of them, weren't introduced, or just cant put the dang names and faces together (seriously likely).

Enjoy!

Editing to add names to the list....

Quite a bit. Since my presentation had a large emphasis on the importance of WilValCo in the history of Midrealm armour I scrounged up all I could. I had an early set of arms you built with Findlay in the early 80s and Fern's Bascinet and Cuirass. There were also some legs from your shop and a current pair of Aaron's gauntlets. I had some of my earlier bits made in your shop as well. You were quite well represented.
