Single handed warhammer and revival hammerheads

So, two weekends ago I got to play with a Markland warhammer, and I took a fancy too it, and I want to make an SCA one. Now, I can build something myself, but the revival hammer heads came to mind as something that will look better than anything I'll come up with, and frankly I don't have the time or money at the moment to build a series of them until I get good enough to produce a good product. For those of you who are familiar with them, would they make a good single handed (thinking 34-36 inch total length) weapon? Would they be too heavy?
