St Patrick Pas at Gulf War

I want to say thank you to all the participants in the Pas and to say a few things I could not get out at the Pas becuase I was so overwelmed. At the end of the Pas for the first time felt what I had been looking for in the SCA. I was filled with emotions bigger than myself and while I am not a knight I knew what it was to be one for a few minutes. Even these words don't convey the emotion that I felt but I thank my brothers at arms for letting me glimpse what we strive to attain in our hobby. I will never forget that day and I will never forget the love I felt for all involved in what I consider a life changing epiphany.

I saw the Pas happening, but was required to be available for the Champion's Battle War Point. Sorry!

I know that lots of stuff is going on during the war, there will be more Pas.

IMO it just shows that we need more than one Pas. Image

I had a blast at the pas. Anyone who didn't get to try it needs to next time. Brennus, you did out class the rest of us Tenans. I'm proud to say I'm with St. Olaf's.

I saw part of the pas. Very nice, and everybody looked sharp.

They had two war points for volunteerism. You can hand out war points for anything you want, really. So, I wonder how well it would go over if there was a war point for a pas, held inside the "enchanted" area? Participants and spectators alike would have to pass an authenticity inspection just to be allowed inside the area.

It's just a daydream, but wouldn't it make historical accuracy a lot sexier?

I missed that one. Sounds like it was a great event! I would have liked to have met more of the archivers as well.
I might have got y'all on video. I was the one with the video camera between the two fort battles. I had originally wanted to pad a camera and take it into the fort, but didn't get a chance. I was wanting to video the Pas also, but was busy picking fire ants off our 2 yr old! He decided to lay siege to a ant mound with his raptor puppet we bought him! It would have been nice to have footage to show new people of what it *should* look like!

One of the neatest things about this pas was that several of the youth fighters came over at the request of the gallery and fought at the barrier.

Those kids are scary good already.

As for a Pas war point, i like it but it will never happen. And i didn't know there was an "enchanted ground" area at Gulf Wars. Where is it?

I just want to give everyone a big Hello and say sorry for having to leave early. It was great meeting up with yall and putting a few faces to names.
And yeah, those kids were pretty cool. They already have kits way better looking than what I'll probabaly bew putting togehter.

Ditto. As a matter of fact, I was one of his (Jean Richard's) warm up fights.
