SCA - Looking for a fighter practice West Kingdom

Was up in the bay area this past weekend with my wife visiting some old college friends. Started talking SCA with someone. He is looking to try and get into heavy weapons. Currently has no supplies but is looking to try and start learning. Just recently had knee surgery so most of the stuff is out but if someone at a practice had a pell he could play with and start learning with he gets a kit together. He might be moving down south to LA/Ventura county within the next year.

Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

Go read it. There's lots of good Bay-Area info in the thread and probably a few good people with whom to talk.

Yup.. I know the LA area.. I can help him out there. For now he's a westie though. I figured I'd mention that part so people would know he might not be a there for too long.

I'm actually in Darach shire.. but I fight for a warband in Calafia.. go figure.

Yeah, the thread Morgan mentioned pretty much gives you all the info your friend can need. Briefly, there is an excellent practice in Berkeley on Thursdays and a smaller one in SF on Sundays.
