Big show for anyone near Calgary AB

Greetings fellow archivers.

On the 17th of August the Museum of the Regiments in Calgary Alberta Canada will be hosting a show that has been the brain child of a good friend of mine. The show is titled 'Soldiers of the Two Mellenium'. It runs the duration of the saturday with everyone from our Roman Legion 'Legio XXI RAPAX':

to groups such as the Calgary Society of Medieval Weponry, HACA or AMMA(or whatever they call themselves now), The dragons own, and others representing the early to late medieval periods, with tournaments, fights, and bouts throughout the day.

Also in attendance will be many groups who re-inact live musketry and cannon work, as well as formations and marching. (I appologise for not knowing these groups by name, but their reputation proceeded them)

Pretty much most of the soldery of the last 2000 years will be represented in one form ot another by serious dedicated re-inacting groups from the surounding area.

Big names in the game such as Petter Fuller, William Christianson and others such as Robert Valentine will also be there.

I am not sure on admission price. For all I know it may be free. (DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT THOUGH). I am sure it will be cheap and a great day for the whole family.

I will post hours, cost and any other details as they become known to me. I hope some archivers can make it as I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting any of you in person.

If you have any questions, I shall try to answer them, it just may take a day or two.

I will be partaking in the Roman, Norman and Late Crusader events, so watch for the guy doing all the running back and forth from the phone booth (a-la superman).

Deary me, I have rather a lot of work to finish by then. Raised elbow cops, raised knee cops, leather cuisse etc etc. I'm not sure it will all be done. At least my roman kit is all finished.

Are there not any albertain archivers who wish to come? ITS FREE! TOTALLY FREE! - no money down, no interest.. you dont pay till.. NEVER! Come on, I'll be your friend if you come.
