Anyone got any of these online or can email them to me? Melee battles are fine but I'm specifically looking for one-on-one fights. Thanks.

If you have some serious bandwidth you can download a few from here:

I suspect a lot of folks have videos of tournaments and such. You might be able to trade a blank tape for a copy of the tournament. You would have to pay postage, but for the price of a videotape, you don't have the loss of resolution that most online video sources suffer from.
Just a thought. I'm not sure where my old SCA tapes ended up, or I'd offer.

Clay, I have some I just finished doing from this years Ansteorran crown tournament. Can you give me more of a feel of the kind of stuff that you want?
Also, they are a bit big (around 10-20 meg a fight) so e-mailing will be tough. Setting up a FTP site though...

Our fighting is not quite SCA, but pretty cool still...

That fall crown video is 20mins of my life I want back. They may have witty comments, but they have all the energy and skill of a newbie at fighter practice...

Sir Victor, what are you guys making your weapons out of? Are they boffers, or solid weapons?

The weapons are solid with a boinker shell.

I have a 36" rattan stick, that has a glorified pool noodle slid over it (wrapped in duct tape of course). I leather-wrapped the handle, and constructed a nice handguard. (no pics are posted of it)
My staff is a 6'rattan staff with padded ends.
The weapons have a nice and solid feel to them (both while attacking or getting hit).

If you look at their web page it says weapons can be made out of padded kindo swords, rattan, or pine. No hardwoods are allowed and all must be inspected.
It also decribes the tournaments with judging, how to advance, and what kind of armor must be worn. In the photo's I did not see the gorgets that are listed as required though. I suspect that the armor standards have been developed after the photo.

Right now, I only know of 1 guy that does not have a gorget. He just started using new armour and did not integrate it yet.
I believe we will have a new armour master soon (time for challenges). The current armour master is holding 2 office positions and inspections have been overlooked.
