Loaner Gear, Progress Check
Posted: Fri Jan 31, 2003 2:57 pm
As some of you know, I'm attempting to get together two suits of loaner armour together for several folks who have shown interest in fighting where I live.
I'm trying to get together a size small/medium suit and a med/large suit... prefferably adjustable, so that between to the two, I can outfit several different sized fighters...
So, anyways... this is a progress check two weeks into the effort.
Suit #1:
Gauntlets (anonymous doner)
Coat of Plates Kit (Warclub) (I will assemble on canvas with copper rivits)
Spaulders 1/2 complete (me)
Shield 1/2 complete (me)
Plastic Cuisses (warclub)
Suit #2:
Gauntlets (anonymous doner)
Plastic Churburg Breastplate Kit (Ironmonger) (I will attach to canvas with copper rivits)
Gorget (me)
* * *
And here's the blatant cry for more... If you have any old stuff laying around you think I could re-furbish, what is junk to you, is a building block for me...
About the only thing I can't make are helms... and I think between the four-five folks interested, they could pool together for something cheap if all else fails.
* * *
If anything, Hawkwood will have some loaner gear this summer if Darryl doesn't show up for practice...
Thanks so much for everything everybody has sent so far... Its greatly appreciated.
