Follow the Battle of Nations Team

Post by Sir Guy »

Here are some links for those following the Team.

https://www.facebook.com/search/results ... p_activity

http://bnfest.pl/index.php?option=com_k ... 24&lang=en

http://www.usaknights.org

and of course my site that has my donation link. http://www.robertusaknight.com (it is not to late to donate as I am still making up costs).

There are around 12 of us in Poland right now staying at the Novotel. We went out with the Kiwi Team Commander tonight to a Hungarian Place and then wondered around looking for Drink. The people at the bubble team place knew I was on the Team when I walked in for some tea. There are flyers all over town as well. We got some photos under them. We have also seen the Russian Team CPT in the hotel.

I think there will be live steaming of the event as well.

Nore to follow.

Ah, I'd rather watch this team than have a skybox seat to the Super Bowl. I'm with you on that one.

Watching the raw footage, not just the highlight reels, I think the US is gonna kick some ass in the singles. These guys don't have the conditioning the US has and it looks like most of them don't have the skill-set. I'm having as much fun watching this as I did the world cup. :)

Duke Felix The Just of the Midrealm brought Team USA its first victory. Sadly most of the footage was on another fight at the time

Is there some help site with the colors worn by the various nations? The US is pretty obvious but it would be nice to know who some of the others are.

Who was just fighting the guy from Italy? It looked like Lucan owned the guy he fought earlier, but I didn't understand the declaration of the winner there.

It's great to see, but hard to follow. I don't have sound on as I'm watching at work, and I don't know all of our guys by their harness to recognize who is fighting. And I have no clue from what I have seen so far as to who has won which bouts.

Something to say in favor of the SCA "Fall down when defeated" convention ;)

Seen some good fights and some bad, most participants seems to be decently skilled, but the cardio in the format and the weather seems to be taking its toll on skill.

It seems like the fights run like a round in boxing. A timed amount with points scored for directed hits. I'd be happy if they just raised the hand of the winner as in boxing.

Fights according to the rules are 3 90 second bouts, first hand and a half, then sword and shield, then buckler, "good" strikes in the kill zone are scored.

Somebody needs to do a live feed of some of the tournaments from Pennsic and feed that to the Poles, Ukrainians, and Russians so we can get them to come to us. Put Sir Vitus on live commentary.
