I will be holding a meeting and greet in my Camp in NO6 (blue and white tent across from where A&S performance used to be on Saturday at 830. This will be for men and women interested in bashing each other about with metal weapons. You don't have to be interested in TeamUSA to do the ACL. While the ACL feeds into our BOTN Team you can easily do one without the other. We are also starting a women's league this year. Women will fight women, men will fight men. Anyone can come to the meet and greet you don't have to be from the East Coast.
The Ducal Challenge on Wed will be a quasi-SCA/ACL format. Fought with SCA rules but with counted blows by judges during all three engagements. 1st engagement will be counted blows, 90 or 180 seconds (I forget) with 2 handed longsword, 2nd engagement will be sword and buckler (best two out of three blows, best two out of three rounds), 3rd engagement will be sword and shield, 90 or 180 seconds (I forget) counted blows.
17-18 Aug there will be an East Coast Divisional Practice. Location will be Joe H. Paulette Memorial Park - 16501 Five Forks rd, Amelia Court House, VA, 23002. If you are interested in the ACL as a fighter, or support person let us know. Merchants are also welcome.
