Can you tell me how to kick your ass?

Just asking.

Odo

Drake,
Quit messing around and tell him how to kick your ass!! I know about a half dozen guys who would like to know.

I'm to old, fat and slow to worry about it anymore.

half a dozen? Try half a hundred!!! Course my sneaky suspicion is that the answer would begin with either "1) Get a crossbow" or "1) Yell out 'Look! an Eagle!' and point behind him"...

hi there

on painting your shield I have had extrodinairy luck with contact cement on titanium.

apply two coats of contact cement on a lightly sanded surface. spray paint. should not chip. will scuff but almost any surface... even polished titanium scuffs.

from my website: http://tiarmour.com/help%20making%20a%2 ... handle.htm
"To paint your shield and have the paint stick like glue and not chip: coat it with a light coat of contact cement before you use paint. spray paint works exceptionally well. the shield above is over three years old and might be scuffed but acetone removes the scuffs and the paint has been bombproof... it has zero thats zero chips or flakes"

not sure about alum but it should be similiar to titanium?

OK, JP! Ansteorra ain't big enough for two Sir Jean's!!

Which is cool with me, since I am Sir Richard.

However, I must say "Sir JP" just doesn't have that cachet.

Inquiring minds want to know. Is it going to be "Sir Jean-Paul" or mini-Ace or what?

Regards,
(Jean) Richard
Ansteorra

PS, You'll look good with the white belt, but I'm not sure that I'll notice the diff. You've looked like a knight for a while now.

I agree.... While I'll still always be JP to those who know me, Asoph and I have talked a lot about Title :) Sir Jean Paul does seem like a mouthful. Sir Jean would be possible, but I think I'd prefer to use the French.

http://www.sca.org/heraldry/titles.html#table1 gives Chevalier as the French title for knight, and part of me wants to use that... however, "Chevalier Jean" pronounced with a deep Texas drawl kinda makes me hurt :D Also, with my friends, it was very easy to see how "Chevalier Jean" could morph to "shovel-John" reaaaaaly quick... you know asoph, you understand.

And on a very funny note, the other day at Kingdom A&S someone walked up to Asoph and started talking to him like he was ME!!! I enjoyed it immensely.

To stir the pot....

Trimaris also has a JP (Master Jean Phillipe) who I haven't seen in a while.

We have a "Sir Jean-Paul" though he's spending most of his time in daddyland right now (twins!).

He goes by "Sir Jean-Paul", and occasionally "Paging Surgeon Paul" and carries quite a bit of cache'.

I personally am more worried about the recent trend towards LOTR Gimli sized chivalry that make tiny shields appear to be of normal size. If we would simply stop knighting people who are too short to ride a roller coaster safely, we would not have this problem.

Vitus' admittedly small shield, if sized proportionately for a regularly sized knight, would be larger than 2'X3'. Stop the madness! Put up a sign at a list field near you "You Must Be This Tall To Fight".

I noticed that Richard was the last poster on this thread, and I had this feeling that I needed to check it again.
