Greek Flame Thrower

Post by Alcyoneus »

I was looking at the Small Arms Review in B&N the other day, and in the June issue is a short article on a Greek war museum.

In it, they have a photo of a c1400 Greek Flame Thrower that was supposed to be used against Turks. It looks kinda like a WWII bazooka with a long pointed sieve on the front end. The front handgrip has a chi-rho embossed guard on it. Very cool.

Fascinating! Could you post a scan of it? I have heard of such weapons but had no idea that any were still in existance.

It's not really armour if you haven't bled on it.

Barnes&Noble is one of the larger chain bookstores. Borders is another that we have. I'll check, but Small Arms Review may be a British magazine, I don't remember for sure.

Of course - Barnes & Noble. I looked up Samll Arms review (good old google!) - it's put out by Moose Lake Publishing, so is presumably from the US.

Not likely to be able to get it on ILL out here, tho'

Got what info I could out of the mag.
Hellenic (Greek) War Museum, at Vassilissis Sophias and Rizari 2 in Athens.
The article was by Prokopios A. Ziros.
