From the Storvik website:

"Fighter Practice is every Monday evening at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in College Park, MD, from 7 to 9 pm. Directions: Take your best route to the Washington Beltway (I-495). Take exit 25 (Rt. 1) South, and follow Rt. 1 South. After about 2 miles, take a left onto College Ave (The MD book exchange is on left). The church is two blocks down on the left. Metro Directions: Take the metro (green line) to the College Park Metro Station. Metro Map When leaving the station, take a right on Columbia Avenue. Columbia dead ends on College Avenue. Turn left on College and walk about 3 blocks, the church will be on your right. The fighter practice is in the hall up the metal steps. For the sake of the floor, no marking shoes/boots and no kneeling in heavy armor. While rapier fighters are welcome to attend, lately there has only been heavy fighting and youth combat at this practice. Contact William the Younger for more info."

'Course things will probably be light the next couple weeks because of Pennsic.

Cunian,

Thank you for the heads up. A friend of mine who lives in DC is interested in seeing and possibley getting involved in fighting. I'll pass your info onto him.

Hi Alec,

The Monday night Storvik practice is by far the best practice in the area at this time. Best meaning there are a large number of knights, dukes and good fighters who regularly attend.

There are several other practices during the week, I know Dun Carriag has a practice (Thursday?) and Lochmere used to have a regular practice in Jessup.

Ponte Alto has a Thursday night practice at Pimmit Park, and a Sunday practice at the same site.

Hope this helps... look me up when you are at one of them, I'm the skinny, bald knight with a goatee. :D

I think Sir Andrew means "skinny, FAST AS LIGHTNING, bald knight with a goatee."

And if you are up for a road trip the Caer Mear (Richmond) practice doesn't suck either...

Andrew,

Thanks for the help. Well if I ever have the chance to show up I am the clean shaven skinny knight with hair.

I wish I knew about this practice when I lived in DC. I took a 12 year or so break from fighting (life) and lived in DC during the middle of those years. So now I know. The next time work brings me back to DC I'll pack my armour and you can add to my helm's dent collection ;-)
