I finally get out to my local practice after moving, getting a new job so I have time for the SCA finally and something bad happens.

I was fighting HE Sior Murchad from my knees. On a slippery surface I'm trying to keep from becoming a wishbone and all of a sudden I feel a
pop in my right knee.

I don;t know what I did but it's not good. I can feel a strong twinge whenever I put lateral pressure on the joint and the inside of the knee right on the point of the hinge hurts with pressure. I did R.I.C.E. last night and quit fighting immediatley after the incident.

Any thoughts? Tips on care? Is this somthing the Doctor can actually do somthing about without surgery?

Bummer.

Ditto

I remember a story Duke Timothy (then squire) told me back before the oceans cooled.

He went to an aerobics class and was doing a scissor type excercise with his legs while lying on his side. His knee gave out and his lower leg formed a number "4" with his toes still pointing forward!

Again, go to the doc.

Go see a doctor immediately. You might have only partially torn the ligament. This can be repaired with less evasive surgery and physio. You may have only detached something.

OR

It may be the ACL or MCL.

Waiting is a real bad idea. Even if you have torn one of the ligaments that doesnt mean you have torn them all. You might if you keep walking around on it without a brace.

See a doctor. Keep up the R.I.C.E.

I did pretty much the exact same thing two years ago this week and it was only a torn meniscus, but it has taken a long time to heal because I didnt see a real Dr. until 3 months had passed.

Good luck and heal up soon.

I did the same thing a couple of months ago. I had to wear a knee brace and visit the doctor about three times before I could fight again. No fun. :(
