I took my new digi-cam on the road today to take pictures for the other forum (monstergarageoutlaws.com) that I frequent. They wanted to know what the fighter practice was that I went to every Sunday. I thought a couple of you might get a kick out of these. There is a pic of my current kit that no one here has seen yet because it suckifies still. I didn't even have my good helm! Darnit.

We average 6 or 7 heavies and 4 or 5 rapiers here every Sunday. It's slowed down due to the Holidays and weather but with Estralla coming up it should start picking up again.

Define reasonable distance.....
Im in Oxford Mississippi...and there are groups in between yours and mine.
Want to organize a little raiding party ?
Maybe hit the Tupelo MS group or Starkville MS ?
Tupelo does not have many fighters, neither do I(5), Starkville only has 4 that I know of but 3 of them are crown list level and the other one aint half bad either.
You could also hit up ShadowCon in Memphis next weekend. Not an SCA event but a lot of fun.

hmm...
how lucky are we here....
yesterday...
28 fighters
of those 6 were Knights and royal peers including the Reigning Midrealm King...
and that was a lightly attended practice.
Usually we are between 30 to 40 with 8 or more Knights/Royal Peers.

I count myself pretty lucky as well.
Our normal fighter practice here in Barony of Atenveldt (Metro Phoenix)
averages about 50-60 heavies (sometimes more this time of year).
12-15 of which are knights/masters and or Royal Peers
not sure how many Rapier fighters probably 10ish
and a whole bunch of non-fighter attendees
It's like having a mini-event every week

Our practices are small in Tyler. We are lucky to have more than 6-7 fighters. However, that does include two Dukes and another knight.
When Wingfoot Farms has a joint practice for our scattered alumni, it is a lot better. Four Dukes, a couple of Counts, a half dozen more knights, another dozen squires and trainees.
Regards,
Jean Richard
