I want to get the word out that the Passage of Three Seas won't be starting until Saturday the 13th.

Basically since Baldar is going back to join the Iraq War again this summer for 4 months it has messed up his vacation plans and now he only has one week for Pennsic. He suggested we start without him but I'm not really interested in that.

Once again I'll offer my assistance in finding a local bank. As I said before I know some execs. in one of the Pittsuburgh bank I mentioned and ONE for sure will be at Pennsic.

Angus,

Thank you. I think I need that. I faxed all the banks I could find in the New Castle/Butler/Zelinople area (14 in all) , and not one was interested in having the local account at their bank. I imagine that I can walk in like any other customer and open a local account. I was just hoping to avoid handling the money altogether.

I am guessing that I will have at least some cash donations on site, so I am going to need some way to get those into a bank, and into an officially verifiable channel. I know that businesses can make after hours deposits to banks, and that sort of think seems like it will be nessessary.

I think I am going to end up using "Community Bank" (it's a branch of BoA) here on the base (in Germany) to handle the main account. They are well equipped to handle both Euros and Dollars, amd they are well versed in using American Style cheques and European Style bank transfers. If they wait 120 days for the pledges to arrive, then the money will get to the orphanage about three days before christmas, which is kind of cool for me. After 120 days, any pledge that hasn't come in yet probably isn't going to get there.

The other scary thing is the actual 1000 fights. If I fight all out, great guns, Heuvos to the wall, I don't think I will last twenty fights in the August heat. I do, however, think that my opponents deserve a good fight. Somebody smart told me "You aren't in a sprint, you're in a marathon" and they are exactly right. I must conserve my strength if I am going to make it a thousand fights.

I do think it might be possible to avoid some of the worst effects of the heat by fighting from 8am 'til noon, breaking till five PM (1700) and then fighting from five 'til sundown. That will give me more available time (probably eight hours) than I will probably want to use.

Gaston, thank you for your fine offer. I am going to need it. I am thankful that you will have your pavillion set up at the later stages of the thing, as that if probably when I will need it the most. My housebrother Lachlann speaks well of your courtesy and hospitality, and I can now attest to it as well.

I just got to look at the website (I was able to get somebody that I actually good with such things to do it) and it will be up by friday. Hopefully, the banking stuff will finally (fingers crossed) be straight by then too.

I think I am going to need a locking box with a cash slot for any cash donations that might come in at the site. I guess I am now off to the "Want ads board".

Thanks for the help and encouragement folks.

We're now not starting until the 13th because that's the earliest Baldar can be there, but we should still have our big Grim's tent set up before that and I can't see any reason why you couldn't fight under it then. Shade could go a long way to improving your success.
