TFBO Training reqs

The questions are starting to trickle in about when folks need to be at the event and/or previous training.
I want to reiterate that both training sessions (Thurs and Fri) are HIGHLY recommended for everyone, no matter their experience level.
The official stance is that if you don't have basic combat and formation by Sept 1 they are mandatory.
I understand that travel is complicated and arranging days off can be a pain but this was announced months ago to avoid these difficulties.
Being the understanding sort we are we have decided that if one of the training sessions is missed that doesn't mean folks wont be able to participate but they will be placed in a part of the line that will not be involved in the cavalry charges and/or the archery volleys.
Again this is a hardline stance but we will be covering areas that most folks have very little experience in so the more exposure they get the better off they will be. The level of danger at this event is a bit higher than most are used to and I want them to know as much as they can about how to be and feel safe. In the past other groups have taken similar stances so we are just following suit.
A final note to trainers, if you are training folks now or have trained them in the past and know they will be at TFBO, please take a look at http://www.vikingsna.org/assessments/ and make sure the info is updated. I will print this off a week before the event and use it as a master list. If folks don’t appear on it and want to fight in system X, they will be required to pass another assessment on site.
Feel free to send me any questions
