And he says that so far as he knows, there's no reason whatsoever that a person can't use the larger highway medians (we're talking Texas here, it's like TN... on some of these you could build Wal-marts between each set of lanes) for archery practice...
for those of you who, like me, really need to work on your plunging-fire shots, this could be a godsend, especially if you're practicing with your blunts.
Also, got to "eavesdrop" on a conversation involving some Turkmen and a goat hunt... six guys at a hundred yards shooting downhill at spooked animals... results: two dead goats, one instantly killed, the other killed where it lay. The guys in front shot direct, the guys in back arching... goat #1 was killed at a gallop while running, with a plunging shot.
So, ye combat archers... imagine the service you could render your lords if at maximum range you could reliably drop your shafts into a Home Depot bucket...
Just had an interesting conversation with a local cop...

Don't take his word for it, police are notroiously bad at knowing the law.
We're not lawyers, i'd call the highway dept and ask them. No point n getting arrested over that. Be careful.
You might try checking with any local outdoor gun ranges and seeing if they'll let ya shoot there. If you'r following the range rules it shouldn't matter what weapon your shooting.
