Man. It's over 30 hours for me. Don't think I'll make the practice. :) Dammit, since it sounds like fun.

Especially not the week before Outlandish.

(Illadore -- I thought /I/ was your favourite! Now I'm jealous.

Not to worry, Alejandro, I'll bring you a nice Yngling "Black and Tan" for your drinking pleasure. Yngling, in general, is alright by me.

 and double  I knew there was a reason your prisoner restraint class at Pennsic last year scared me.

Can I be like you when I grow up? =sits in awe=

-------------------------------------

Unto the great and stalwart host of Mercenaries does Lady Rhiannon, Herald to Lord Donovan Talbot of Clan Dragonshade send her most heartfealt greetings and regrets.

At this time I will not be able to stand among my brothers and sisters of the Road of Blood. Trod well where many have trod before you and remember that not only your own honor but the honor of your brothers and sisters watches over you upon the field of battle.

Remember well that even though your swords are for hire your honor is not. Show no mercy, no quarter, for you will be shown none. Be not cruel in the face of cruelty and show only the utmost courtesy upon the field, for your target of today might be your employer of tomorrow.

I know within the smallest fiber of my being that you will comport yourselves in the manner befitting those who follow this difficult Road we have chosen. May the gods see you through this endeavor, and if any of you should fall and I next meet your severed and pitch-covered head on the Battle Road, I will make my courtesies and pour out libations in your honor. It is my fondest wish that I could be there to stand beside you, but circumstances have carried me and mine far afield.

In service to Shire, Friends and Family, I remain,
Lady Rhiannon Negeswr of Clan Dragonshade

In other words...ya'll tear em up, I won't be able to make it. Save me a beer.

Yes it does. I saw your post indicating interest and was surprised. Most serious folks from the East will be in Lancaster MA that weekend. Funny, if we could just swap the M for a P, it'd be possible to hit both.

Myself, I've been watching the to and fro about this and wishing I could attend, and I'd be doing it, but I'm pledged to teach at BW. I was hoping I could get some of the Ghost Bears down.

Possibly in Ireland. Certainly in Dublin.

Oh, and, yes, there is nothing like Dublin Guiness.

Many years ago I put up the prizes for the clans sumo matches.
The winner got a pub can of Sapporo stout
the second place winner got (and drank) two cans of Sapporo stout
The Third place winner got (and drank) three cans of Sapporo stout
the competition was to say the least quite spirited

And if you find yourself in Ostgardr I will introduce you to Paddy Reillys
where you can have Guiness stout on draught (4 taps) or Harp on draught (4 taps), you order your stout when you're halfway through your current one since they take their time building it properly. They have one additional tap for woodpecker, and bottled bass under the counter for black and tans.
the music is pretty decent also

Will you be open for business? I am paying some mercs in rattan.

Your Grace, I am confounded. My apologies. I did notice your name among the "yes" responders earlier in this thread, but somehow forgot. I'm glad that the honor of the East will be upheld. If you have taken offense at this accidental slight to your prestige, I can make myself available at some time when it will be mutually convenient.

If you will, though, smite one for me. :)

I now find myself honor bound to bring pub cans, and a decent supply of imperial pint glasses with me ( the house is overrun with them).
After several years associating with me Brother Gui has picked up a taste for decent food, and pints of the black. We have on occasion had to decide between sauasages and rauschbier, or music and Guiness -
Not quite as much fun as several hours a hard practice, but still a good way to pass some time

Hey! I'll have you know I'm a very clean heretic, thankyouverymuch.

Given my druthers, I might actually prefer a Pabst over a Guinness, but overall I'd rather have good Belgian (one of the upsides to living in Pittsburgh is access to the bar with the largest selection of Belgian beers in North America - http://www.sharpedgebeer.com/ - so much so that the owner was given an honorary knighthood by Belgian, and having a friend who's a Laurel in brewing to educate me didn't hurt either).

I'll happily drink Nissan's Yuengling, though, and IMO Black & Tan in a bottle / can is just wrong.
