One of my fighters really wants to learn how to use a danish ax. He came to me for help with learning this weapon and I have no clue! I fight glaive and greatsword alot but a five foot ax is totally new to me. While I know people who are masters of this weapon, I am not so some advice would be nice.
Any good online manuals? Should I modify my greatsword style to take into account the shorter striking edge or teach him my glaive style at what is normally my B to C range ?

OK are we talking two-handed Axe here. If so, and made like an axe, it does react a little different that that of a glaive.
Two-handed great axe is one my favorite style and I enjoy it as there are some surprises that a lot of people are not always aware of.
If you want some specifics PM me or email me (please put SCA or such in the subject line so I don't toss the email out with the junk mail). You can have your fighter contact me and I can go over the basics and right now I plan on being a Gulf Wars.
Count Aengus is a good Axe fighter and when he gets back (if he is not already) he is someone to talk to.

I find that alot of greatsword technique translates well into a large axe it's a good place to start.

Vebrand,
I will be daytripping to the Mannanin MacLir event. If you will be there, perhaps you could go over a few things with me, in using this fine weapon?
Thanks.
