Pennsic Quest

Here we are, less than a month away from Pennsic and it's time for me to start advertising my quest and begging boon of all you fighters.
I will be trying to duplicate the quest of my Knight from 2 years ago. My Knight is Sir Geoffrey Scott, and I will be attempting to complete 1500 fights during Pennsic.
So to that end, the boon. I would ask that all fighters on this list, that will be at Pennsic, to look me up on the pick up field and do me he honor of crossing swords with me and signing my book.
Thank You All in Advance,
Baccus Kaloethes
Man-at-Arms to Sir Geoffrey Scott
Guard to Princess Oonagh of the Mist

It'd be an honor, Baccus. Do you have a picture up, or your device, to help us find you?

Will do!
Now how do we find you!
Sir Scott did me the great favor of practicing with me at West Crown and helped me dish an elbow year and years before.
He's a great Knight and you are truly blessed to be in service to him. He's on the very, very short list of KSCAs I would seriously consider squiring to.

My lord, please tell us how we can find you and when (and how to properly pronounce your name so we don't embarrass ourselves or anyone else when the time comes...

Okay, let's see if I can do this. Here's a fairly recent picture of me. I don't wear that gorget anylonger. I have one of Thorvaldr's hardened leather ones. The helm is a Val 6 style. My arms as submitted (not yet approved) but the colors are good, is Per Fess Engrailled, Vert and Gules, an Anvil between Three Bees Or.

Yes, I'm that old and now I have a nifty white beard to go with it. I do wear that gambeson as well..
Looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you on the Field of Honor.

Nifty gambeson. I will assuredly look for you, and hope to add my name to your book of bouts.

Best of luck to you Baccus on making your 1500 fights at Pennsic.
Hope the gambeson I made you is still holding up well.

With Pennsic less than a week away, I thought I would bump this thread and encourage everyone who will be at Pennsic with armour to please give Baccus a set (or two, or three, or...) of fights.
When I set about to do this quest two years ago, I chose 1500 fights because I *knew* that I could do 1000. I had to set a goal that I was uncertain I could achieve. It wasn't until King Uther told me I had to complete this task that I knew I could do it. I had a few things going for me, though. I was used to fighting all day, and I had spent weeks on the pickup fields at previous Pennsics.
I believe it was Duke Randal who wrote in my book, "This is a quest that most people should not even attempt."
Baccus, my man-at-arms, has undertaken this quest, not through any suggestion of mine, but as a personal quest to test himself. I know what it takes to pull this off, and although Baccus only has 13 months of fighting under his belt, he does have a few things going for himself. He wakes up early (I never got to the field before noon for pickups) and he has tremendous heart. The long hours and willpower will both serve him well, but it will be impossible to complete the task without many, many good gentles willing to give but a few minutes of their time to assist him.
I ask all who would even consider donning armour and taking to the pickup field to do so and seek out my man and become a part of his quest. Help make his first Pennsic one that he will never forget.
Thank you,
- Scott

I'm looking forward to meeting and fighting Baccus.
If he wakes up early, I'm usually up by 6 AM and could be armed and on the field by 7 AM (unless my host says otherwise...the clang of steel does little to make your morning rest enjoyable).
And we both have quests the involve lots of fighting AND it's the first Pennsic for both of us! This is a neat situation!
Your servant,
Will (Aaron)

I will meet you, and if you beat me, I will drink a toast to the boundless honor of your inspirational lady.
And I would ask that you do the same for my lady.
When will you be making it to the field? I will try to bring my friend Robyn Lionheart with me, and I am sure that he would like to fight you too.

I will leave the final accounting to Baccus, for he has earned that honor; but suffice it to say that the last eight bouts I witnessed (gathered with many other attendant knights and men-at-arms at the behest of His Majesty Radnor) were as hard fought as the first.
Why eight, you might ask? Let's just say that, for an engineer, Sir Geoffrey Scott seems to have an ongoing problem with numbers
Baccus has achieved an amazing feat of arms worthy of the highest wordfame.
With respect,
Alfred of Carlyle

I'm mightily impressed.
Anybody who can even attempt to imitate G.Scott deserves 1000 virgins in the afterlife. I have never seen anyone like Geoffrey- he is truly something out of Malory.
