The procession etc of the combatants and their ladies:
Image
Earl Cadogan and Lady Euphemia
Image
Sir Gerhardt and Lady Judith
Image
Baron Maximilian and the Baroness
(I didn't get every single person in the procession, but I tried)
Image
Lord Luter (sp?) and Lady Shavan (sp?)
Image
Lord Arnulf and his lady Karen
Image
Our own ever-popular Freiman and his lady Esmerelda
Image
Can't remember his or her name, but someone will know who it was

Now for the fighting! (You can stop tapping your foot Freiman)
Cadogan vs a variety of opponents:

(it's not a new finishing move, Sir Gerhardt and he were patting each other on the back)

Can't remember who either of these are in armor, someone can identify their arms.

Freiman vs Luter I believe:

Sir Gerhardt vs Maximillian

Freiman again:

Freiman took a little slide.

And he demonstrates why he got the chivalry award as he salutes his wife. :) My wife is sitting next to her.

Lord Arnulf goes for the kneeling kill:

Accidentally mislabeled Luter for Sir Gerhard in one pic as my wife pointed out, a couple others might be mislabeled too. Hard to keep everyone straight in all these pics.

Here's the big fight:

Baron Maximillian on the left, Sir Wiglaf (sp?) in the middle, Earl Cadogan on the right. They're saluting their ladies up in the balconies.

The ladies.

The King himself marshaled the fight. After the final blow (and as far as I could tell, it was CLOSE), congratulations between the two.

B Fulton, You totally, amazingly freakin' Rawk!

Thanks so much. This is a big, big thing.

I thought that the armor made me look fat, but the truth is, the weight makes me look fat.

And the bog shoes are the wrong size. I need to make another pair.

Thank my wife, she spent most of a day uploading these to photobucket, while I went crazy for 10 hours in a Humvee turret behind an M249.

Contact me for the full size pics, I'll send you a CD or something (along with Cadogan and everyone else whose email address I got).

Taking the pics was no big deal (I would have anyways). I used to get paid to do the same with video, so it wasn't terribly hard. :)

I put the feast pics in Interpretive Recreation or whatever it's called.

The pair in dark blue and white are Lord Jakob Winkelmann von Soehren (Shire of Aventiure), fighting for Odindisa (Shire of the Two Seas).

Jakob was having a kind of off day, but had an armor failure which caused a small cut on his forehead. Nothing major, but he did have to go off site and get three (or so) stitches.

I asked him how he was standing right before that happened, and he said "I don't know."

So, for the rest of his life, he will have to say "I'm not totally sure, but I was doing pretty well, and then the medics forced me to drop out!".

This was Jakob's first run at crown.

Master Johann always fights crown. His wife is the Kingdom Clerk of Law, and the Principle of the Order of the Laurel, so he's gonna be there anyway. Even though he isn't living in a place where he can practice on a regular basis, he fights in every single crown. I secretly think he does it to avoid having to be involved with the politicing that seems to accompany crown list. I mean, he can't talk to you about that thing that's bugging you, he has to get ready for the list!

He is one of the nicest guys I know. I would like to be a lot like him when I grow up.

One of the first things I noticed was that grass was really GREEN!

The people are great, the garb was wonderful, the fighting was excellent...but the site just DID something in those pictures.

Where was this lovely place? The autocrat is definately blessed!

That looked like a truly wonderful event!

Good work everyone!

Schloss Limberg, about 40 min outside of Graz, Austria.

Not much of a castle, but it was a real one. :) More of a keep that got turned into a hunting lodge (tall, not very big acreage-wise in total floor space.. 3 stories plus, and the big courtyard in the middle surrounded by rooms.

I knew I missed a couple guys names but they rattled them off quick and I never got all of them down.

Freiman,

Jakob did not have any stitches. He had it glued shut. 25mm X 1-2mm deep..

Freiman,

You really need to take the mailing stickers off of your shield...... :-)

Actually he lives in our place - where we used to have fighter practices three times a week. (Nowadays only once a week due to logistics problems but in the spring time we'll hopefully have practices twice a week.) He just doesn't attend training sessions that regularly.

Where did you get the idea that it is not possible to train in Finland?

Grace unto you B. Fulton.

Thank you for posting the pictures of Drachenwald's Crown Tourney.

I had heard stories of a land gentle and fair. I made pictures of it in my mind, painted with pigment of imagination. My visions were woefully short.

Perhaps one day an errand will send me to that beautiful place, where all Ladies are fair, all men-of-arms worthy, and populace so gentle.
