Hi,

I happened to notice that I have an extra twin mattress. I set it up on the wall and have been using it for a pell. It actually seems to work OK. It's about the same size as my usual opponent, except thinner.

i use this guy

with some slight modifications

he has a gambeson and i made arms to hunt out of pool noodle

he also has a shield and a helmet

I use my kids.


They have about gotten the hang of ducking and dodging.


I may reward them with armour this summer.

Roibeard have you havd any problems with him splitting?

I've kinda gashed his head open where the ear meets the head.

You know of a repair kit?

You are talking about the pell, not the squire...right?

Hopefully, not the kids.

To stay on topic, however, I like a small tire on a rope. Take it out to the basketball court, throw the rope over the frame (try not to use the hoop, it's bad for them) and use it. When you are done, untie the rope, roll it around the tire, and stick the thing under your bunk.

I call mine a "traveling pell".

Haven't had that issue, although I've heard of it before. My pell is sporting an old great helm on his noggin.

The way I would repair him, though, would be to first seal the gash with contact rubber cement and then cover that with a strip of gaffer's tape. If you can get a hold of some high-tensile strength Silicone Rubber (the stuff for moulds) you can put a thin coat of that atop the tape to finish it off nicely. Such a repair will outlast the dummy. I am actually waiting until the temp goes up a bit and then I'm going to put a skin of silicone rubber all over mine to help prevent damage.

Even if you don't believe in Siloflex, it makes a good pell sword.....

Was going to use my wife as a pell but she keeps wanting to hit back.
