It is my understanding that William Thomas is not fighting for personal reasons.
JP, yes the Ragnar Ribcracker was the two swords (non-lefty) you fought at that practice and yes he's pretty good. And BTW, thanks for the vote of confidence on the odds.
I cannot blame DA, he doesn't really know me ...or maybe he does and has me pinged correctly. 
Now if I can just get the other fighters to disregard me too.
