Taping your Sword?

Greetings All...

I was curious as to what the majority of people do to Tape up their swords,

Theres Two Main methods that I've Noticed...

1) Tape runs the length of the sword, IE, take one piece of Tape, attach it to the sword above the basket hilt, and run it to the top.

2) Spiral the Tape around the sword. This Adds weight, but I find it makes the tape last longer...

sorry if I havent explained this well...

I Tend to Use 2. I know a Lot of people also do different things before they tape it up with that last coat, I was curious as to what worked well?

Thank you!

My method is tape first with strapping tape spiraling up and then back down for a series of X's.

then tape streight up over the tip and back down the other side untill coverd.

then wrap around in several spots to secure the tape.

And finaly mark edge and tip.

same as aaron but i'll put a final wrap at the base of the blade to secure the marking tape, i use hockey tape and i find it gets loose at the ends if you don't

This is what I do as well. Usually I can redo the duct tape a few times before the sword is toast.
