Hi,

Somewhere in the texts that are still boxed up in the house somewhere, I know I have a reference to teams of cap-a-pie fighters having sporting fights with polehammers.

Would the cap-a-pie armoured fighters go for a counted blows (say to 30) fight with teams at Pennsic? Or a Grand Melee, everyone out for themselves, drinks and food following?

Maybe by torchlight?

I can provide the polehammers for at least three, maybe more.

The 14th Century Challenge of Thirty fighters can’t be the only ones that can have fun at Pennsic! I feel left out and I know there are other cap-a-pie fighters out there who would go for this!

I would take part, my kit is not 15th cent but mid 14th, but I could augment aspects of it with plate for a later look.

Aaron, If you have a matched pair please bring them up so we can duel on equal terms at Green Lane. Regretably my great weapons were transported home with someone else after Pennsic and I havn't gotten them back yet.

How is this for the concept of the fight?

Authenticity: Look good but forgiveness given to an extent (no unexposed Dark Victory plastic, etc...). Plastic that looks like plastic must be covered.

Premise: A polehammer fight among friends at a parade armour party in 1599 AD England. Anything that you think the English could think up with in 1599 AD is free game – including fantasy and previous times (like War of the Roses for my suit). This means Nissan Maxima and the Warriors of History crowd and the entire Combat of 30 crowd can join to, as they are “Englishmen in costumeâ€

I could buy roses for everyone's helms, if you wish (limit 24 roses).

Then it could be the "Rose Bowl" or the "War of the Roses".

The problem is the jokes about being deflowered on the field.

I'd like this to fun and something people would like to do again.
