Ahm, head to foot folks, no greaves no sabatons, no cap a pie

Yep.

I looked at the pictures from the Warriors of History Tournament in 2006...and I look like Charlie Romeo Alpha Papa. The mail gussets will be added as soon as I sew up the new arming coat.

No matter how far you go, there is a bit farther you can go. It's a journey, never a destination.

aaron, i have a question what does your complete harness weigh in at?

im thinking around 70ish? you must have some crazy stamina.

I'm working on Sab's. Other than that I'm in.

80 lbs, but I'm reworking a lot of it and adding the mail gussets. It’s not up to my standards yet, but it’s getting closer. My first suit was AWFUL and while the next five or so were better, it was a scary evolution.

I do have "some crazy stamina" though. If I wasn't in the SCA I would be doing triathlons. I run, bike and swim most every week. If I’m in an area that the SCA isn’t around, I usually do road races.

The odd thing is that the armour does weigh a lot when I lift it in the boxes, but when I wear it it’s like the weight just all but disappears IMO. I’m not really any faster without it. And when I’m missing a piece (like the sabatons or whatnot) it feels odd like the weight isn’t distributed right.

I also just sort of feel better wearing the armour. I can't explain that one. Once the suit is on, I'm having fun, regardless of the outcome. I might be doing horrid, but I'm having fun.

I agree with that one. Its like its a superhero suit or something. I just feel different in armor. More outgoing, more energy, and I tend to smile more.

Bleddyn - it's an Old French form from vulgarized Latin (caput > cap ; pes > ped/pied/pie)

I know, I know--I don't have the sabatons on in these photos. I don't have all the side and rear tassets on either. But this is how I wear the harness usually, and it's how they were often worn historically.

OK, for the purpose of this thread, please define cap a pie.

Sabatons? Rerebraces? Gaunts?
