FIOS1 TV coverage from Tournament of Love & Beauty

As those in attendance at Atlantia's Tournament of Love & Beauty were aware, I was asked to be our "ambassador" to a journalist from FIOS1 TV (the Verizon FIOS cable TV channel for Northern VA, MD, and DC) throughout the day.

While we were able to provide a few very minor edits to the piece (deadlines being what they are), the piece is still largely accurate and (I believe) a pretty good 5 minute and 30 second representation of what we do and what we're about.

I think it's a really good small piece on the SCA. You can view the video HERE. I hope we did both Atlantia and the Society proud.

I look forward to your thoughts and comments. Feel free to reach me at maxntropy@att.net -- and please feel free to forward the link to those who might also appreciate or utilize the video to help explain what we do (or more importantly, to recruit others to our activities). Enjoy!

I think you did yourselves and the society proud. Great video, it shows the SCA as it is and in a positive light.

Well done

Max,

How does the TV station feel about the use of this video being distributed and used by various households and locales? Have they consented to allowing us to use it for such a purpose? I think it would be great to add to some of the media we have looped at our demo's but worry about the copyright issues involved.

I have been explicitly asked by the journalist to forward it. And it's on youtube. ''

He has asked me to plan on working with him to do a future piece specifically oriented towards the Arts & Sciences of the Society and another one on the making and fitting of Armour -- so all you folks doing armouring in Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland please let me know directly (especially if you are doing visually stunning things like forging).

One of the best "mundane media" treatments of the SCA I have seen. Well done!

That is great!! We have Kaleidescope coming soon on CSULB with an annual attendance around 25,000 people coming through the campus. We are having a tournament, siege weapon demo, coursing, an arts and science pavillion, and usually have video looping, so we will have to add this to the total set up.
