ok my google Fu is failing me and i cant find accurate helms or even Sca helms

any chance you guys could shoot me some links or even post pics of your helms ty in advance

Dat's because there is no such nomenclature as crusader helm.

Crusaders wore a number of different kinds of helms, depending on where and when you are talking about.

Levantine Crusades:

First - Third Crusade: mostly conicals with nasals or steel caps of various sorts.

Fourth - Ninth Crusade: You start seeing early forms of the Great Helm, as the nasal becomes a face plate, around the time of the Fourth Crusade (1202-1204). Conicals are still around but the round topped nasal helm is coming into vogue. By the end of cursading in the Levant the Great Helm is pretty well developed.

Then there are the Northern Crusades in Gernamny and the Baltic regions in the 13th century, crusades against the Tatars, also in the 13th cent, Crusades in the Balkans beginning in the late 14th century, the Aragonese crusade in the late 13th cent, the Alexandrian crusade in 1365, the Hussite Crusade from 1429-1434 and the Swedish Crusades in the 12th and 13th centuries.

So, you see that given how many centuries the crusading effort is continued, there is no such thing as a crusader helmet.

Perhaps you mean a topfhelm or saltshaker greathelm? If you could give an idea of where and when you want to be from we could narrow down your choices.

Ah. Good choice. Very handsome helm. It is a flat top great helm or topfhelm, seen in 13th century.

It's not hard to make if you know what you are doing, as Adam Berry obviously does. He made Thaddeus' helm.

He's on here as White Mountain Armoury and he is making helms again, so give him a jingle.

Thaddeus made his own helm with some pieces from a kit from Zweihammer Armoury and some pieces of hiw own construction.

It was the decoration that mislead me, specifically, it reminded me of the way Chris did the trim <a href="http://globaleffects.com/B_pages/03_ArmsArmor/Period/Vendel_A_01_hi.jpg">on his vendel</a>. Ugo usually prefers to let the steel do the talking. Though obviously he makes occasional exceptions!
