I was sparring with my student Unicorn in new rules (armored combat), Deva slayer vs katana. It was a rainy day and eventually my shoes broke.

You definitely get points for enthusiasm. What are the weapons made of? They seem to have a lot of flex.
I'm glad you wear joint protection, mainly because of the chance of a slip-and-fall on that wet surface.

Hello! Thanks for your comment. Our sparring weapons were made of fabric, metal, plastic and wood. Mine was a specially made one that has extra flex to prevent breakage from the heavy impacts. It was 2.2kg and balanced 7.625" off the guard, so the impacts were of very high momentum and may break my sword in a shorter time than the other normal RSW (Realistic Sparring Weapons). We were trying to spar with a rules that simulate armored combat more this time, so several hits were required to bring one down per round.
